Wausau man arrested for 8th-offense OWI after motorcycle stop in Lincoln County

A Wausau man was arrested Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, on an eighth-offense drunken driving charge after a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper stopped his motorcycle for speeding in Lincoln County.
According to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol’s Wausau Post, a trooper stopped a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a speeding violation on State Highway 86 near County Road T at 1:13 p.m. Sunday. Upon contact with the driver, the trooper observed indicators of impairment, and after further investigation determined the driver was operating the vehicle while impaired, the release said.
Ryan D. Plisch, age 51, of Wausau, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, eighth offense. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license and misdemeanor bail jumping, according to the release.
Please note that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
