Mail-in voting, voter identification requirements, and the Electoral College will be the topics of discussion at a community forum on election reform Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at T.B. Scott Free Library, 106 W. First St. in Merrill.
The forum runs from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. It is presented by the library and the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods, and it will examine three approaches to election reform along with the possible benefits, challenges, and unintended consequences of each.
The central question is how election systems can balance access for voters with security, accuracy, and public confidence in the results, organizers said.
Eric Giordano, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, will moderate the discussion.
Organizers said the program is meant to give residents a chance to hear different perspectives, ask questions, and come away with a clearer understanding of the issues surrounding election policy.
The forum is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
