As of Mid-January, local recreational vehicle enthusiasts have another local option for full-service and repair in Northwoods Powersports Repair, located at N2290 Airport Road. Owned and operated by long-time powersports enthusiast Kerry Muenchow, the venture has been a work in progress since he entered into the service and repair world professionally, in 2013.

“I’ve loved ATV’ing and snowmobiling for as long as I can remember,” Muenchow explains. “Of course when you own your own machines and ride hard, it’s cheaper to learn how to work on them yourself than take them somewhere. So as I got older I realized I enjoy working on them as much as I do riding.”

Following several years of working on various machines for friends and others in need, Kerry went to work professionally as a technician for area powersports outlets, including 365 Powersports of Merrill; formerly Snow Shack. Through his experience, Muenchow has become a certified Master Technician for all makes and models of Polaris and Can-Am machines.

“I’ve always had the idea to open my own place and plans were in the works, but I was still thinking at least another couple of years out yet,” he explains. “Then around the middle of January, the opportunity presented itself. My wife  Katrina and I felt the time was right so we went for it.” While holding certifications in Polaris and Can-Am Kerry is knowledgeable in most any make and model of ATV, UTV, jet ski or snowmobile.

While specializing in general service and repair, Northwoods Power Sports also offers complete engine rebuilds, suspension work as well as ski and tire replacement. For more information, Kerry can be reached during regular business hours of 9 a.m,-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at (715) 921-6731. Saturday appointments are available.
