On Feb. 18, 2025, United Way of Wisconsin, in collaboration with United Way Fox Cities, announced the launch of CommunityUpskill.org. This online platform provides in-demand skills and career training to individuals across the state, through courses and learning pathways that result in industry-recognized credentials at no cost to the participant.
Courses are designed to equip learners with the skills employers are seeking. Whether you’re a student, a professional looking to advance in your career or explore new options, or someone just getting started in their digital journey, these flexible courses are tailored to fit your needs and lifestyle. Courses are available in English and Spanish.
“In today’s digital age, access to quality education and skill development is more critical than ever,” said Charlene Mouille, President/CEO of United Way of Wisconsin and 211 Wisconsin. “CommunityUpskill.org is another valuable tool in our toolbox to help bridge the digital divide and ensure that all Wisconsinites have the opportunity to thrive in the modern workforce.”
This initiative leveraged key funding from Microsoft to support its development. “Our work with United Way of Wisconsin expands skilling and career training opportunities and helps strengthen the local economy across the state,” said Michelle Schuler, US Program Manager, TechSpark, Microsoft.
To learn more and explore the available courses, visit CommunityUpskill.org. To begin, individuals will set up their own free LinkedIn Learning account, which will grant them access to various courses and pathways and allow them to showcase any credentials they earn on their LinkedIn profile.
This opportunity is a part of United Way of Wisconsin’s statewide Techquity work, aimed at addressing Wisconsin’s digital divide by supporting access to devices, internet affordability, and skilled digital navigation. Additional opportunities are coming soon for eligible Wisconsinites to access no-cost devices such as laptops or tablets through Techquity work statewide and with local partners.
