Tree removal scheduled on 10th Street

Posted

The Lincoln County Forestry Department, in conjunction with the City of Merrill Street Department, will be conducting tree removal and thinning operations along 10th Street, north of the Lincoln County Service Center, on April 1 and April 2, 2026.
This project will address trees and branches encroaching into the roadway, which pose potential safety concerns for motorists, pedestrians, and city equipment. The work will improve clearance, visibility, and overall roadway safety.
Trees will be cut on both days. On April 2, the work will also coincide with Merrill High School’s College and Career Readiness Demonstration Day, providing students an opportunity to observe proper forest management practices, including timber stand improvement, tree selection, and safe tree removal techniques, as well as a real-world look at forestry and natural resource management.
Work will take place during the day. Residents and drivers should expect minor delays and exercise caution in the work zone.
The Lincoln County Forestry Department and City of Merrill said they appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as this work is completed safely and efficiently.
