Steven Edward Strom

Posted

Steven Edward Strom was born on September 26, 1957, to Bernard Russell Strom and Kathleen Anne Kennedy. He was taken too soon from this world and went home to God, joining loved ones who had gone before him, on September 27, 2026.

Steve met the love of his life, Rose Lugo, and they were married on September 8, 1979. Together they built a life and raised three children.

Steve was a gifted athlete who excelled in football, basketball, baseball, karate, and track. He was a Kung-Fu Master. A Merrill High School graduate, Class of 1976, Steve was recently inducted into the Golden M Club for football. He was also a member of Saint Stephen’s United Church of Christ.

Steve owned and operated Merrill Glass and Paint until his retirement.

Above all else, Steve enjoyed time with his family. He loved his animals, especially Baytee, his trusted late dachshund, and Dafne, the newest addition to the family. He enjoyed birdwatching and was an avid music lover. Steve had an amazing, great, quick-witted sense of humor. His improvised jokes were often off-color yet would brighten your day! Steve’s compassionate warmth and strength for others was a beacon to all those who knew him. He was always willing to help others in any way possible. Steve is deeply missed by his family and friends, especially his beloved wife Rose.

Steve is survived by his wife, Rose Strom; daughter Jessica Strom (Jesse Baumann); son Steven B. Strom (Nacole Busterud); daughter Jillian (Andy) Groshek; grandchildren: Isaiah (Dahja) Heyel, Isabella Heyel (Chris Dalida), Gideon Strom, Kaiden; sister Jean (Robert) Hoeft; nephews: Ryan (Jamie) Hoeft, Nickolas (Amanda) Hoeft, Matthew (Erin) Hoeft; mother-in-law Kathleen “Kitty” Daverman; and many beloved family members and friends.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be announced at a later date.

Steve is truly irreplaceable and will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
