PCCU donates $1,200 to Merrill Community Food Pantry

Posted

Merrill-based Park City Credit Union (PCCU) donated $1,200 to the Merrill Community Food Pantry as part of a larger effort to support food pantries across north central Wisconsin during the holiday season.
The donation helped fund Thanksgiving meals for families in the Merrill area as demand at local food pantries continues to rise due to inflation and high food costs.
“At Park City Credit Union, serving our communities is at the heart of everything we do,” said Adam Donner, Community Engagement Ambassador for PCCU. “We’re proud to lend a helping hand to our local food pantries as they face unprecedented demand. No one should have to go hungry.”
“As a member-owned financial cooperative, Park City Credit Union values its members by putting people over profits and addressing the urgent needs in our community,” PCCU said in a recent press release.
Local pantries have seen increased need this fall, particularly after a government shutdown in early November delayed federally funded FoodShare benefits. Many families who have never needed assistance before have turned to food pantries for support.

The credit union distributed a total of $3,800 to food pantries in November, with additional donations going to pantries in Rhinelander ($800), Lakeland ($800), Tomahawk ($500), and Nokomis ($500).
PCCU employees also volunteer their time at food pantries throughout the year.
PCCU is a member-owned financial cooperative serving more than 25,000 members across 12 counties in north central Wisconsin. The credit union has offices in Merrill, Tomahawk, Minocqua, and Rhinelander.
