Northcentral Technical College has announced its 2026 summer camp lineup for K-12 students, with registration now open for 13 programs spanning healthcare, skilled trades, technology, engineering, and more.
The camps, which run from early June through late July, are designed to give students hands-on exposure to career fields through activities, facility tours, and interaction with industry professionals, fostering curiosity and skill development.
Session lengths range from a single day to four days, with most programs held on NTC’s Wausau campus. Additional sessions are offered at the Medford and Phillips campuses.
Summer camp offerings include:
• Find Your Future: Helping Careers in Medford
• Engineering STEAM Camp
June 15 – 17, Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Wednesday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
In partnership with Engineering Tomorrow and the Leigh Yawkey Art Museum, this camp immerses students in the field of engineering through hands-on instructional labs. Participants will receive cutting-edge instruction led by professional engineers. For students ages 13 to 16.
• Make It Real: Graphic Communications
June 22 – 25, 9 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Students interested in branding and production will create their own brand and produce materials such as stickers, t-shirts and packaging. The camp offers hands-on experience with design and printing processes in NTC’s state-of-the-art lab. For students ages 13 to 17.
• Kocourek Auto Group’s Nitro-X Automotive Summer Camp
June 15 – 18, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Make It Real: Imagine, Design, Manufacture
June 15 – 18 OR June 22 – 25, 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
This camp offers hands-on activities in welding, machine tool and engineering as students design and build a take-home project. For students ages 11 to 16. Note: This camp is currently full, but a waitlist is available.
• Find Your Future: Veterinary Technician
• Find Your Future: Healthcare
June 17, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This immersive, one-day camp allows students to explore various healthcare careers through hands-on activities, covering fields such as surgical technology, radiology, respiratory therapy and phlebotomy. For students ages 13 to 17.
• Find Your Future: Sports and Recreation Camp
June 22 – 25, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
This four-day camp introduces students to exciting careers in sports and recreation through hands-on activities, field trips and interactions with industry professionals. Participants explore how sports programs and events are managed while building their own recreation program to showcase what they’ve learned. For students ages 12 to 15.
• Find Your Future: Presidential Leadership Camp
July 7 – 9, Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Find Your Future: Welding in Wausau
July 9 OR July 14, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
This one-day, hands-on camp introduces students to the fundamentals of welding, including safety practices and basic techniques. Participants will build a project to take home while exploring careers in the skilled trades. For students ages 11 to 16.
• Find Your Fit: LEGO Mindstorms
• Find Your Future: Python Code Academy
July 20 – 23, 1 – 4 p.m.
This hands-on academy introduces students to coding and software development through building interactive programs and solving real-world problems. Participants explore how programming connects to careers in technology, data, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence while developing logical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. For students ages 13 to 17.
• Find Your Future: Welding in Phillips
June 10 OR June 11, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This one-day, hands-on camp introduces students to the fundamentals of welding, including safety practices and basic techniques. Participants will build a project to take home while exploring careers in the skilled trades. For students ages 11 to 14.
