Merrill’s first annual Merry Merrill Market and last-minute late-night shopping experience was held Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, from 5-10 p.m. in downtown Merrill, and it drew quite a few shoppers who were out for the last-minute bargains and the excitement of the evening. With Merrill Ace Hardware, Ana Blair’s Boutique, and The Humble all participating until 10 p.m.; other businesses including Sunset Hollow Wine Bistro & Gifts, Auntie Ray’s Coffee House, Polka-Dotted Pie, and others extending their normal hours; and outside vendors at both Auntie Ray’s and Ana Blair’s, there were lots of opportunities to pick up gifts and enter giveaways.
Wags of Wisconsin was at Ana Blair’s with puppies looking for new homes for the holidays and holding a fundraiser for their organization.
The Grinch was seen skulking around the area and may have begrudgingly posed for a few photos.
And Merget’s Mouthwatering Mayhem provided opportunities for a hot evening meal or refreshments for shoppers as they made their way from store to store, with proceeds going to benefit the Lincoln County Humane Society.
“The Merry Merrill Market was a huge success! We could truly feel the joy and excitement along with the nostalgic Christmas Spirit in everyone who came to shop,” said Johanna Doyle, owner of The Humble and one of the event’s organizers. “Each business has reported they were also very successful, and we look forward to planning and expanding the Market for 2025! Plans to get it underway will begin at the end of January!”
“The joy our customers expressed about the Market have us already planning for a summer Market, as well,” she said.
