Merrill High School Figure Skating Team forms

At the end of November 2025, the Merrill Ice Reflections Figure Skating Club announced the formation of its very first Merrill High School Figure Skating Team, marking an historic moment for the local figure skating community. The team will compete in the Wisconsin High School Competition Series, which is organized by U.S. Figure Skating, and will be coached by Montana Grabowsky.
Six Merrill-area figure skaters make up the current team: Emily Freyer, Lilly Hoffman, Madalyn Karsnia, Korina Kraegenbrink, Mya Meyer, and Lauren Zuelsdorff.
The Merrill High School Figure Skating Team made its team debut competing at the Ice Legends Classic hosted by the Greater Green Bay High School Skating Team.
The Bronze Team — made up of Emily Freyer, Lilly Hoffman, and Korina Kraegenbrink — took home a first place in skating skills, second place in spins, and fourth in jumps.
The Aspire Team — made up of Lauren Zuelsdorff and Madalyn Karsnia — landed a first place across the board, in skating skills, spins, and jumps.

Mark your calendars to support the new team! Upcoming competitions will be held on Jan. 18, 2026, in Wisconsin Rapids and March 8, 2026, in Merrill, when Merrill will host the State Competition.
“The Merrill Ice Reflections club and the community are thrilled to support these athletes as they make history,” said Raegan Zuelsdorff. “Come cheer them on and celebrate this incredible achievement!”
