Matthew Mark Nichols

It is with much Love and a heavy heart, to announce that ‘Matthew Mark Nichols’ (Age 56) of Wisconsin ; passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 16th 2025, while visiting his home life in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.  

He was born on December 20th 1968, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the proud Son of Robert (Bob) and Carol Nichols; youngest of five boys. Matthew grew up in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. As a part of the graduating class of 1987, Matthew was an excelled, driven, incredibly talented Baseball and Football player. He was recognized for said excellence and inducted into the Brown Deer High School Hall of Fame. Matthew graduated from UW Whitewater, with a Bachelors of Science degree in teaching and childhood education. Matthew was a three year starter on the UW Whitewater Baseball team, setting many records and being the 1st to reach the division III World Series. Matthew taught in both Wisconsin and Alaskan Communities for 26 years. As an actor/model starting in 1994, Matthew has appeared in over 32 feature/short films/independent films and hundreds of commercials and ads everywhere. Matthew spent his last years, DEDICATED to providing a better image and quality of life for those in the town surrounding him, where he worked in Egegik, Alaska. He was driven and determined for positive change and future outlook.  

Matthew lived his life passionately and genuinely - as a father, teacher, published author, artist, actor, and traveler. Most importantly, Matthew valued making time and connections with family and friends; genuinely the kindest, most supportive man. Matthew is forever recognized as a beacon of light and positivity, showing genuine, love and kindness to everyone he encountered.

Matthew is preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Carol, his brother Dave, and his aunts: Ora Noll (Chick), June Kriewald and Phyllis Fausch.

Matthew is survived by his son and best friend, Seth Nichols; granddaughter, Olive Nichols ; daughter, Laura Hewitt; mother of his children, Amy Nichols; fiancé and mother to step children,  Karlita Paniagua; brothers: Steve (Kim), Tom (Dena) and John (Mary Jo); uncle, Harlan Fausch; nieces and nephews along with many, many friends and family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Brown Deer High School Novak Family Field Center, 8060 North 60th Street Brown Deer, WI  53223. Memorials may be made to the family in lieu of flowers. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery, Merrill, WI.

Matthew is safe and watching over all of us. His presence is stronger than ever. He guides and protects us. May his never-ending positivity, motivation and undefeatable spirit be a lesson and inspiration to all. Bless his heart. We Love You Matthew!
