The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the March 18 Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Education meeting:
A cash donation from an anonymous donor in the amount of $3,000 for the Food Service to help families in need.
Donations being recognized that were received from local businesses and individuals for the 2025-2026 Great Speaker Forum for a total of $4,530: Prairie River Properties, LLC, $2,000; Optimist Club, $500; Rose Skic, $300; Merrill Lions Club, $300; Sierra Pacific Windows, $250; St. John’s Lutheran School, $125; Trinity Lutheran School, $100; Eagles Aerie 584, $100; Kiwanis Club of Greater Merrill, $100; Merrill Area United Way, $100; Reindl Printing, $100; Kay Nicklaus, $100; Taylor Insulation, $100; O’Reilly Auto Parts, $100; Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #584, $100; Central Carpet & Flooring, $50; Schmitt Manecke Donner Auxiliary Post 1638, $50; Brad & Tammy Woller, $30; and Oak Park Dental, $25.
Donations of money from Robert Locke valued at $250 for the MAPS Nest Programs; cash from All Aboard valued at $500 for the Food Service to help with negative lunch account balances; a check from Merrill Social & Sick valued at $200 to help support the Theater Jays; compiled donations from multiple donors at the Eagles Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser valued at $4,287 for the Nests at Kate Goodrich, Washington, Prairie River Middle School, and Merrill High School; a monetary gift from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 584 valued at $1,343.26 for the MAPS Bluejay Nests; a monetary gift from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #584 valued at $1,343.26 for the MAPS Bluejay Nests; money from Lin Kautza valued at $1,000 for the MAPS Bluejay Nests; a check from Benevity valued at $80 for the MHS Theater Jays to receive online donations; and a check from the Bierman Family Foundation valued at $1,500 for purchasing a bike helmet for every student at Pine River School for Young Learners.
