MAPS accepts December and January donations

The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the Dec. 18, 2024, Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Education meeting:
Donation of funds from Merrill Lions Club valued at $4,000 for helping to support the Kate Goodrich, Washington, PRMS, and MHS Nest programs; gift cards from Secret Santa valued at $2,000 for spreading holiday spirit at Merrill High School; funds from an anonymous donor valued at $1,000 for the Merrill High School Feed the Jays; snacks and toiletries from Park City Credit Union valued at $100 for the Merrill High School; a library book from Marie Rein valued at $25 for the Washington School in memory of Amy Jo Reichert, a former student who passed away; and, hygiene supplies from Church Mutual valued at $300 for the Prairie River Middle School Nest.
The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the Jan. 15, 2025, Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Education meeting:
Donation of funds from IncredibleBank valued at $3,000 for Washington Lighted Schoolhouse materials and student activities; donation of funds from Laura Lussier-Lee and Eric Lee valued at $2,500 for use as needed at the Evjue School Forest; donation of funds from Lincoln County ARC - Ristau Fund valued at $3,000 for Special Olympics; gift cards from Secret Santa valued at $2,000 for Kate Goodrich classroom materials, student use, student incentives, and family support; a check from AbbVie Employee Engagement Fund valued at $100 for supporting the fundraising efforts of Merrill Football; funds from Sue Smaaland Ministries valued at $40 for student needs in the MHS Nest; a monetary gift from Grandpa’s Farm valued at $800 for the MHS and PRMS Cross Country Team; a monetary gift from Paul Rozak valued at $50 for the MHS Cross Country Team; a gift of money from an anonymous donor valued at $1,000 for helping families in need at MAPS; money from Ryan and Susan Priebe valued at $400 for the PRMS Special Olympics in memory of Nancy Priebe; a monetary donation from Ann Iatonni valued at $500 for the MHS Nest Food Pantry; a check from Calvary Lutheran Church valued at $1,350 for the Merrill High School Raise Your Voice activities and supplies; funds from Laura and Eric Lee to use as needed, including $1,000 to PRSYL, $1,000 to Kate Goodrich, $1,000 to Washington Elementary, $1,000 to Prairie River Middle School, and $1,000 to Merrill High School; funds from the O’Tannenbaum Tour valued at $800 for the PRMS and MHS Nests ($400 each); clothing, deodorant, and snacks from Liz Friedenfels and her son, Jameson, valued at $200 for PRMS Nest supplies; funds from Karen Akey and the Van Der Geest Family valued at $1,200 to sponsor two PRMS families with their needs during the holidays; a monetary gift from Lincoln County ARC - RIstau Fund valued at $500 for the MHS Working Jays; a check from the Blackbaud Giving Fund valued at $100 for the Merrill Football Program; hats, gloves, and socks from the Mitten Tree - Millers valued at $70 for student use at Kate Goodrich; a monetary donation from the Optimist Club valued at $124 for the Merrill High School Nest; money from St. Stephens valued at $1,000 for the Merrill High School Feed the Jays; and a monetary donation from Wisconsin Phi Master valued at $400 for the Nests at MAPS ($100 each to MHS, PRMS, Washington, and Kate Goodrich).
