On July 7, 2026, deputies responded to the area of USH 8 and CTH L in the Town of Bradley for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. Deputies located one vehicle in the middle of USH 8 and another on the side of the road. Both drivers reported minor injuries, and one was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
On July 7, 2026, deputies also responded to the area of USH 51 near mile marker 220 in the Town of Rock Falls for a motorcycle crash with injuries. The driver was traveling northbound on USH 51 at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a curve and entered the median. The motorcycle rolled several times, throwing the driver from the bike. The driver was wearing a helmet but sustained unknown injuries.

On July 9, 2026, the sheriff’s office received a report of a reckless driver on STH 17 near CTH J in the Town of Russell. A deputy located a vehicle matching the caller’s description and conducted a traffic stop. Upon contact with the driver, identified as Kurt Hickman of Merrill, the deputy noticed signs of impairment and asked Hickman to perform field sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result, Hickman was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) and a probation violation. He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and booked.

On July 10, 2026, deputies responded to an address on Anglers Ave. in the Town of King for a disturbance in progress. The caller reported that her 22-year-old son was intoxicated and combative. The first deputy on scene located and detained the man, identified as Boe Delmer of Tomahawk, and placed him in the back of a squad car. After speaking with a witness, the deputy arrested Delmer on a charge of domestic disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and booked.
Deputies conducted 39 traffic stops and 13 security checks over the weekend, and responded to three car-vs-deer crashes.
