Eastside businesses to celebrate nation’s 250th on July 3 in downtown Merrill

Merrill’s eastside downtown businesses will host a Fourth of July celebration Friday, July 3, 2026, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary with food, music, and activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lunch on Banker’s Square will include hot dogs served by Boy Scout Troop 503 and subs from Sunset Hollow. The Grand Stand will offer sundaes and cones with an Independence Day theme at Cosmo Hall, and Sargent Martial Arts and Fitness will lead mini fitness activities.
Patriotic music will play throughout the downtown, and businesses along East Main and East First streets will offer red, white, and blue specials during the event.
Organizers said the celebration is meant to highlight community, local businesses, and the country’s 250th anniversary on Merrill’s eastside.
