The WIAA Regional golf tournament kicked off on Tuesday, with Merrill attending the Antigo Regional.
The top four teams at the Regional move on to the Sectional round. The Merrill golf team finished their round at Bass Lake Country Club in sixth place, ending their season. Russell Dettmering won the Regional, shooting a 73 (+2), qualifying himself as an individual for the Sectional tournament.
Hunter Wallace ended his round with a score of 91 (+20), Michael Casper shot a 90 (+19) and Michael Cammack finished with a 105 (+34).
Dettmering was one of four individual qualifiers who will move on to the Sectional tournament. Sectional will take place on Tuesday, May 28, at New Richmond Golf Course.
