Saturday, March 16 marked three decades of serving pizza and pasta for Salvo’s Pizzeria owners Jim and Flori Jesperson.
A Green Bay native, Flori fulfilled a childhood dream in opening the restaurant on March 16, 1989. “My very first job was in the restaurant business and it had always been my dream to some day open a place of my own,” she explains. “I liked the location (201 E. 2nd St.) and here we are thirty years later.”
Flori owned and operated the restaurant until 1991 when she married Jim. The couple, with the help of their seven children, have made the business a family affair ever since.
“We have met so many amazing people over the years,” Flori adds. “When I moved here, it didn’t take me long to realize how great of a community Merrill is. It’s been an enjoyable experience over the years and we are very thankful for the community support.”
