MAPS Board Vice President resigns

Eric Geiss,  Vice President of the Merrill Area Public Schools Board of Education, has announced that he will step down from his role effective immediately.

According to a press release from the district, in an email to Board President Kevin Blake, Geiss stated that his decision is for personal reasons. “I regret any inconvenience that my resignation may cause,” Geiss said. “I have enjoyed the experience and am honored to have worked with you in service of the students and the district, helping transform the board’s reputation and community relationships. I do believe we have done very good things for our kids, the future of the district and the community.”

“I have appreciated Eric’s leadership and wish him the very best,” states Dr. John Sample, MAPS Superintendent.
“I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Geiss for his outstanding service to our school district and the entire Merrill area community,” said Blake. “We wish Eric the very best in his future endeavors.”
Geiss’ current term was scheduled to end in 2020.
