Lady Jays hold year end banquet

Last week the Merrill girls basketball team held their annual year end team banquet. The girls celerbated three of their teammates who received Wisconsin Valley All-Conference honors as well as receive many individual and team awards.

Courtney Krueger was selected as second team All-WVC for the Jays, averging 9.6 points per game and totaling 39 rebounds and 35 assists in her 12 conference games. Elizabeth Iribarren ended her season early due to injury, however in her eight conference games played averaged 10.1 points and tallied 56 rebounds and five assists, good enough for an honorable mention bid. Dalie Thomas was also selected as honorable mention averaging 7.9 points and coming up with 35 rebounds and 25 assists.

All five seniors on the team were given the Senior Award. The five seniors include Ally Tabor, Rylee Mrachek, Dalie Thomas, Elizabrth Iribarren and Michelle Lahr.

There would also be five indivdual awards handed out including the TEAM Award, which was presented to Michelle Lahr for her great team first attitude. Krueger was selected as Offensive MVP for the team, Iribarren was voted as MVP, Ally Tabor received Defensive MVP and Dalie Thomas was given the Newcomer Award.
