Small named PRMS Youth Optimist of the Month

Gabe Small

Prairie River Middle School 8th grader Gabe Small has been named Youth Optimist for the Month of February. Gabe was nominated by Literacy and Social Studies teacher Amber Nueske.
“Gabe is always willing to help his peers and frequently shares his advice and insights in our social studies and literacy discussions” said Nueske. “Gabe’s worldly perspective is inclusive – he stands up for others and he’s inclusive and respectful of alternative view points. Gabe frequently advocates for marginalized groups in society. Furthermore, in his own work, Gabe shows authenticity, thoughtfullness and care. He takes responsibility for learning and truly cares beyond simply earning a grade. Gabe’s presence in our classroom makes it a better place and I have no doubt he will continue to affect those around him positively throughout his life.”
The son of Mary and James Small, Gabe was recently awarded student of the quarter and is invloved in wrestling, 4H and Childrens Church. Gabe lists his personal qualities as respectful, thoughtful and kind.
