Bell Tower to host annual Merrill Artisans Showcase

The Merrill Artisans Showcase will hold its 11th annual show on Saturday, Feb. 9, in Assisi Hall at Bell Tower Residence, 1500 O’Day St., Merrill. The show runs from noon-4:30 p.m., featuring 22 new and returning artisans.

New to the show are “special” featured artists, Mary Robinson of Wausau and Matt Philleo from Eau Claire. After a 35-year career in art education in Wausau, Mary volunteers her time to arts organizations and is enjoying being creative with various media and styles. Matt now works as a professional artist and paints realistic portraits and inspirations Christian-themed art. Both Mary and Matt grew up in Merrill.

Other new artists are: Darlene Coldwell, quilter; Ginny Cormack, ceramic artist; Karen Jurgens, paper tole; Larry Jurgens, stained glass; and Jonathon Malm, WOODsconsin. A new feature of the show is collaborative artwork by more than one painter. Merrill native Jamie Kalvestran has had great success with this style and will also show Artwork from her Engelwood Studio in Tomahawk. Other artisans are: Ann Jaroski, pottery; jewelry by Suzi Janowiak and Denise Anton Wright; carvers Ron Pankow and Jack Ader; Bags Plus by Sandy Lussenhop; Greg Nimmer’s musky lures; Louise Schotz, Outback Studio; Gary Pagel’s Graphites; Scott Savage Photography; Rita Wiechman’s Art By Rita; photo cards by Marcy Wiltgen; Lindy Haynes, soul-full scenes; and Brigadoon Winery.
Merrill pianists will be entertaining. Admissions is $7. Enjoy wine, cheese, in-house raffles, music and more. Proceeds benefit residents with diminishing resources
