State legislators announce local listening sessions

State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Minocqua) will be holding joint listening sessions for constituents on Jan. 25, 28 and 29 with state Representatives Mary Felzkowski (R-Irma), Jeff Mursau (R-Crivitz) and Rob Swearingen (R-Rhinelander).

“These listening sessions provide a great opportunity to hear what constituents have to say about the upcoming session,” said Tiffany. “I am eager to share with my colleagues what the people of the Northwoods are thinking about for the biennial budget and legislative session.”

“Rural issues will be at the forefront of my priorities for this legislative session,” Rep. Felzkowski added. “I am looking forward to ensuring that rural constituents continue to have a strong voice in Madison.”

“I am very pleased to host listening sessions within Vilas and Oneida Counties at the beginning of a new legislative session,” said Rep. Swearingen. “Meeting the needs of this region will be important as we move forward with a new administration.”

“I encourage our constituents to join us at one of the listening sessions. Getting the opportunity to answer questions and work on challenges related to state government is a critical part of this job,” said Mursau. “I always look forward to these sessions and hearing directly from constituents about the issues they care about.”

Listening sessions in the 35th Assembly District, with Tiffany and Felzkowski will be held Friday, Jan. 25. The two legislators will be at the Tomahawk Public Library, 300 W. Lincoln Ave., from 12:30-1:30 p.m., and at Antigo City Hall, 700 Edison St., from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

“If you are unable to make the date or times of the listening sessions,” Felzkowski added, “I will be resuming my in-district office hours in February, and please remember you can always contact my office at [email protected] or call us at 608-266-7694. I look forward to speaking with all of you as we begin our work together this session.”
