MAPS Fab Lab hosts first advisory board meeting
Last Tuesday, the MHS hosted the first ever MAPS Fab Lab Advisory Board meeting, enjoying a turnout of representatives from 10 area employers and manufacturers.
“I would like to thank the business and industry partners who attended,” comments an undoubtedly excited Fab Lab Director Josh Zalewski. “These local business and industry partners demonstrated their dedication to the successful construction and implementation of our district’s Fab Lab. Collaborative goals, expectations and vision statements were discussed and will be implemented to assure all students a successful opportunity to build the skills necessary by using state of the art equipment to achieve their dreams right here in the Merrill area,” he explained.
“It is very exciting to see the strong partnerships forming in such a short amount of time with this new endeavor,” Zalewski continued. “Together we will achieve great things and put Merrill’s Fab Lab on the map! I’d like to once again thank all who attended as well as the future partners who could not attend.”
“Relationships do matter,” added Dr. John Sample, MAPS Superintendent. “The strength of this community is based on the willingness of individuals to show support. That was certainly evidenced by those that attended the MAPS Fab Lab Advisory Board meeting.”
Representatives from the following employers and manufacturers were in attendance at last Tuesday’s meeting: Agra Industries, Church Mutual Insurance Company, FreMarq Innovations, Graham Architectural Products, Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation, Lincoln Wood Products, MAPS Administration, Semco Windows, Sierra Pacific Windows and Weinbrenner Shoe Company.
