Carla McLenithan selected as BlueJay Star of the Quarter

Merrill Area Public Schools is pleased to announce Carla McLenithan has been chosen as the BlueJay Star of the Quarter for the First Quarter of 2018-2019.

The BlueJay Star of the Quarter is a peer-nominated recognition program developed by the District’s Employee Recognition Committee. Ms. McLenithan is a paraprofessional at Jefferson Elementary School and has been employed by the District since March of 2014. She received numerous nominations from her peers including “Carla McLenithan, aka Mrs. Mac, is so deserving of recognition for her hard work and commitment to our school. As a paraprofessional in our Jefferson classrooms, she goes above and beyond to show every student she cares. Carla has taken countless students under her wing, most often the students with many behavior difficulties and difficult backgrounds. She gets to know them, shows them she cares, and appreciates the differences of each student. She believes in them, and they know it. From giving them encouragement to always do their best, leading many after-school clubs, providing snacks when they’re hungry, donating gifts to every single student during the holidays, and never giving up on them, Carla goes above and beyond each day for our kids. We, the students and staff, are so appreciative of all she does for our school.”

“Carla McLenithan embodies the true principles on which this award is presented,” exclaims Dr. John Sample, MAPS Superintendent. “She always puts students first and is truly focused on meeting their needs.”

Merrill Area Public Schools thanks Carla for all her work and dedication to the students and staff in our District!
