Merrill Salvation Army seeking bell ringers for Red Kettle Campaign
Each year, the Merrill Salvation Army holds the annual Red Kettle Campaign. In November and December, community volunteers give of their time to stand outside County Market and Walmart to accept donations.
The goal is to raise $46,000 this year and for every $1 collected, $0.86 stays right here in Merrill. These funds are used to provide emergency assistance to Merrill area residents, including rent, utilities, and transportation issues. The Salvation Army does not provide long-term help; it provides emergency assistance to individuals, families and the elderly who are in crisis situations.
The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to fill bell ringing shifts from Nov. 23 through Dec. 22, 2018. Volunteers may sign up online at https://www.registertoring.com/WebPages/Default.aspx. It is very quick and easy and can even send a reminder text if desired. Or, you may call Merrill Kettle Coordinator Yvette Chives at 715-218-9043 to sign up.
