Merrill Police reports

October 26
2:46 p.m.- Officers responded to the Probation and Parole office to take a male party into custody for a probation violation. The male was transported to the jail.
4:16 p.m.- Officers responded to the Probation and Parole office to take a male party into custody for a probation violation. The male was transported to jail.
7:31 p.m.- Officers received a report of a possible stolen vehicle. Throughout the weekend both shifts worked this investigation ultimately resulting in cooperation of the juvenile suspect. The car was eventually recovered in Marathon County but was completely burned. Lincoln County Department of Social Services is involved.
8 p.m.- An officer located two dogs running in the roadway on Prospect Street near W. 3rd Street. The animals were captured and transported to the Humane Society where they were placed in kennels. One of the officers was bitten on the hand by one of the animals but thankfully had protective gloves on.

October 27
8:08 a.m.- Officers and MFD personnel were dispatched to a chimney fire. Officers stood by and conducted traffic control until called away from the scene.
3:47 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to an intoxicated male in the 300 block of E. 1st Street. The male was likely saturated in his own urine and unable to get where he was going. The officer provided a ride home and made sure the male got home safe.

October 28
5:43 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to an ongoing harassment complaint possibly related to another investigation. The adult suspect was possibly harassing a juvenile. Evidence of the conversation was collected at this time but the complainants decided to pause any further investigation with hopes it would de-escalate. Further investigation may be forthcoming.
