Merrill High School graduate Morgan Wardall will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team during the 2018 season, which begins this Friday. Wardall is a freshman at UW-Whitewater and will play at middle hitter for the Warhawks.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team enters the 2018 season with expectations to compete for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Warhawks, who open play next Friday, reached the WIAC Tournament title match for the fifth straight year and finished with a 22-8 record, including a 5-2 mark in conference play, in 2017. The team posted 13 straight wins between Sept. 20-Oct. 21 last year before dropping four straight to close the regular season.
UW-Whitewater, the favorite of the league’s coaches and athletic communications personnel to win the conference title, kicks off the new campaign next Friday and Saturday with the UW-Whitewater Invite.
