Joan Allayne “Tuddie” Polar, age 53, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away peacefully after a two-year battle with cancer on Saturday, August 18, 2018, under the care of her loved ones and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. Joan was born October 12, 1991, in Merrill, WI, to Edwin and Francis (July) Hildebrand. She was married to Douglas Polar on October 12, 1991; he survives.
Joan grew up in Merrill and was a 1983 graduate of Merrill High School. She later worked at Church Mutual Insurance Company as a Customer Service Representative for several years. Joan enjoyed music, going to Blues Festivals and Country Music Festivals, and singing karaoke. She was artistic and creative and loved decorating inside and outside her home, especially for the holidays. She cherished time spent with her family, “hot-rodding” with her son, and spoiling her dog, Hunny.
Survivors include her Husband, Douglas Polar, Jr., of the Town of Harrison;
Her Mother, Francis Hildebrand, of Merrill;
1 Son, Patrick Polar, of Merrill;
1 Brother, Joe (Augo) Hildebrand, of Merrill;
1 Sister, Terrie (Art) Zietlow, of Tomahawk; and
her “Furry Companion”, Hunny.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Edwin.
