HAVEN (Household Abuse Victims Emergency Network) is grateful for a $5,000 grant donation recently received from the Sierra Pacific Foundation. The Foundation focuses its charitable giving programs on local youth and community programs in the operating communities of Sierra Pacific Industries throughout California, Washington and Wisconsin.
At HAVEN, this generous grant will be used to expand the fenced in grassy area to provide more green space for children to play, and also to update the outdoor play equipment. Since HAVEN moved to its current location in December 2010, there has been a small designated play area adjacent to the building. However, the amount of level grassy area for children to enjoy free play has been limited. This donation will expand the green space and give the families who stay at HAVEN more ability to enjoy the benefits of fresh air, sunshine and exercise together, while also maintaining their safety.
