Trifecta of events planned to raise funds for Agra Pavilion
Three big events are being planned to raise money for completing the work on the Agra Pavilion. For the first time, the Friends of the River Bend Trail along with the Rotary Club of Merrill are hosting a Chalk It event, a Ride the River event and a Pig and Corn Roast event on Aug. 25.
The Chalk It event will be held from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. around the Courthouse sidewalk and toward the trail. The bike ride begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. This is a family event and bikers can choose a five mile loop or a 12 mile loop that goes through the Council Grounds State Park. A lunch provided by Johnson’s Café is included.
Finishing off the day is a pig and corn roast with activities at the pavilion. A corn hole tournament is being planned along with music by Winchester from 3:30–5:30 p.m. and the band 3’s & 7’s from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale for the pig roast; $12 in advance and $15 at the door. For more information and registrations, go to the website www.riverbendtrail.org or the Friends of the River Bend Trail facebook page. Tickets can be ordered online through the Merrill Chamber website www.merrillchamber.org.
