Bradd Wayne Price

Bradd Wayne Price, age 68, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home.  He was born to the late Wayne B. & Carol C. (Colwell) Price on June 22, 1950 in Rio, WI.  Bradd graduated from Rio High School, and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. He fell in love with his soul mate, Linda Noreika, and the two were joined in marriage on September 6, 2014.  She survives.  Bradd was previously married to the late Margaret “Peg” Price.

Bradd was a Property Assessment Specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for many years, until his retirement in 2006.  He had an enjoyable side business called, “Bradd’s Back 40”, where he would build food plots, provide brush cutting, and garden tilling. He also had an incredible skill and eye for landscaping. He enjoyed getting the daily paper primarily so he could complete the crossword and sudoku puzzles.  Bradd was an avid and accomplished hunter, especially deer and bear hunting.  He was also an outdoorsman that enjoyed and respected nature, whether it was canoeing, snowshoeing or just sitting outside taking in the beauty of the outdoors.  Bradd was very civic minded and was Chairman of the Village of Kronenwetter Parks and Recreation Committee when he lived there. As an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill, he served as a member of the Property and Maintenance Committee and Church Council.  He also enjoyed acting as usher and creating a new landscape bed at the church.  Bradd was a loving and kind man, that cherished the time spent with his family.  He began a Christmas gift exchange tradition with the grandchildren that will continue on for many years.  Each year, the kids loved and eagerly anticipated shopping for the exchange gifts with “Grandpa Bradd”.  He taught his two grandsons how to use a bow and arrow and drive the UTV.  Bradd was a proud, strong and considerate man that wanted and ensured the best for his family.  He and Linda would look forward to their summer trips especially to Bayfield, WI, where they would enjoy the sights and sounds of the area with picnics on Lake Superior and side trips to little out of the way shops. He was fan of Baseball, a Civil War buff, an avid reader and enjoyed visiting the National Parks.

Bradd is sadly missed by his best friend and wife: Linda Price of Merrill, brother: Paul (fiancé Sally Ceplina) Price of Rio, WI, sister: Patti (Hoyt) Chitwood of LaQuinta, CA, step-daughters: Lauri Kranig of Virginia, Jennifer (Vince) Buss of Green Bay, WI and Melanie (Aaron) Martin of Marathon, WI, step-son: Brian (Dawn) Kranig of Crystal Lake, IL, his grandchildren: Maddie, Carly, Ella, Jace, Logan, Paige, Eve and Clare, nieces and nephews and his canine buddies: Sunny, Zeb, Cady and Tucker.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and many of his canine buddies.

A Remembrance Ceremony for Bradd will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Noon at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill.  Pastor Pat Schutz will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 9am until the time of the service, also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be sent in Bradd’s name to the Aspirus Cancer Center in Wausau.   The Family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hamied Rezazadeh MD and his staff for the excellent care and concern that they provided to Bradd while he was at the cancer center.
