Janice L. Kucirek, age 93, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Woodland Court Elder Services, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born on December 25, 1924 to the late James and Marie (Crothers) Musil in Neillsville, WI. Janice attended Miss Woods kindergarten & primary training school. She graduated from Eau Claire Teacher’s College. Janice was teaching kindergarten in Portage when she met Charles “Doc” Kucirek, who was also teaching in Portage. Janice and Charles were united in marriage on May 28, 1955 at the St. Mary’s Church in Neillsville, WI. Sadly, he preceded her in death on December 14, 2009. They lived in Auburndale, WI for 4 years, after which they moved to Stratford, WI. Janice would help Charles at the Veterinary Clinic, answering phones and assisting him with appointments.
Janice is survived by her sons: Bill (Shirley) Kucirek of Cannon Falls, MN and David (Lynn) Kucirek of Irma, WI, 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Charles “Doc” Kucirek.
