The Merrill Baseball Hall of Fame will add five new individuals, as well as one American Legion State winning team, to their honorable club.

The five individuals selected for induction this year include Shawn Schultz, as a player for Merrill as well as a coach; Adam Cordova as a player; Alex Grunenwald as a player; Mike VanLeishout as a Post 46 ambassador; and Mark Simon as a non-Merrill resident player. Mark Simon is the first of a new category in the Hall of Fame, being a resident of the D.C. Everest area, but playing for the championship winning Merrill Giants.

The team selected for induction is the 2007 State Champion American Legion Post 46 team, which included players Adam Cordova and Alex Grunenwald, as well as coach Shawn Schultz.

The induction ceremony will be held at the annual Art Perkins Memorial Tournament at Athletic Park on Friday, July 6, at 6:45 p.m. right before the Post 46 team is scheduled to play Holmen.
