MHS students demonstrate the ‘Bluejay Way’

Over the course of the 2017-2018 school year, Merrill High School has made a concerted effort to reinforce positive student behaviors with the goal of encouraging students to model positive and appropriate behavior both in and out of the classroom.

The school has held assemblies at the end of each quarter to recognize the achievements of students and award prizes to those who were caught demonstrating positive behavior. Throughout the year, students demonstrating behaviors consistent with the “Bluejay Way” were given a ticket to enter into drawings for prizes such as gift cards to local stores or events, gas, car washes, movie tickets, free food, etc.

Sponsors who contributed to make the Bluejay Way program possible include: Chips, Cosmo Movie Theater, Cost Cutters, Culver’s, Dairy Queen, Family Video, First Street Coffee, Holiday Gas Station, Kwik Trip, Les and Jim’s Lincoln Lanes, McDonalds, Merrill Community Bank, Merrill Parks and Recreation, Wausau Police Department and the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
