Scouting for Food collection Saturday morning

Local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts braved the weather last weekend to leave food collection bags at residences in Merrill. Residents are asked to put non-perishable food items in the bags and place them in front of their homes for the Scouts to pick up.

Scouts will be scouring the city Saturday morning, collecting the filled food bags. Please have the bags outside by 8 a.m.

If anyone in the community has yet to receive a bright yellow Trig’s grocery bag on their front door, the Samoset Council Scouts are asking the public’s help in doing a good turn by placing donations in any bag or container and placing them in a visible location so they can be retrieved on Saturday morning.

Suggested non-perishable items: Soup, dry pasta, dry mixes, canned foods, boxed food, flour and sugar.
