Merrill Police reports

February 26
4:23 p.m.- An officer responded to a drug activity complaint. The caller stated they had located a homemade marijuana pipe in their garage. The caller believed it belonged to their son. Contact was made with the juvenile who admitted to being the owner. The juvenile is being referred to social services for possession of drug paraphernalia.
8:38 p.m.- An officer responded to a burglary complaint. The caller advised their apartment was entered and two Nintendo game systems were stolen. Investigation is ongoing.

February 27
10:55 a.m.- An officer responded to probation and parole for a probation violation. One female was taken into custody for a probation violation.

February 28
4:41 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.

March 1
6:16 a.m.- A caller reported a scam attempt. She was contacted by a company claiming there were viruses on her computer. She was instructed to send money to pay to have the viruses removed. The “company” was provided bank access to the caller’s account. Fortunately the victim was able to recognize the scam and the funds were able to be stopped through her bank.
7:41 p.m.- A caller reported her two teenaged sons got into a physical altercation and one of the young men fled from the incident location. The son who fled was located several hours later. It was found he was the predominant aggressor in the physical altercation. He will be referred to Social Services for disorderly conduct and battery.
