Michigan Technological University, in Houghton, Michigan, has released the Dean’s List for the 2017 fall semester. Among the honorees are the following from the local area: GLEASON- Karrah Schneiderwent, Tomahawk Senior High School, Civil Engineering, parents Georgia Schneiderwent and John Schneiderwent; MERRILL- Ashley Berton, Merrill Senior High School, Wildlife Ecology & Mgmt, parents Sheryl Berton and David Berton; Bryce Litschauer, Merrill Senior High School, Mechanical Engineering Tech, parents Mary Litschauer and James Litschauer; TOMAHAWK- Lane Beaumier, Tomahawk Senior High School, Mechanical Engineering, parents Jennifer Beaumier and Brett Beaumier; Katherine Russell, Tomahawk Senior High School, Materials Science and Engrg, parent Megan Russell; Tyler Wittmann, Tomahawk Senior High School, Environmental Engineering, parents Heather Trzebiatowski and Jeremy Wittman.

Mitchell Schauer from Tomahawk earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at winter commencement on Dec. 16, 2017. Schauer graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in entrepreneurship.

The following local students have been named to the 2017 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities; MERRILL- Nicholas Hoffmann, Senior, College of Design; TOMAHAWK- Michael Lodholz, Sophomore, College of Liberal Arts.

Concordia University officials have released the Fall Honors List for the 2017-2018 academic year. Among the area students named to the list were: MERRILL- Morgan Marnholtz, Senior, Elementary Education; TOMAHAWK- Heidi Massa, Senior, Elementary Education.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville awarded diplomas to approximately 550 graduates after the fall 2017 semester. Included among the graduates were the following local students: ATHENS- Elliot Markwardt, Industrial Technology Management; GLEASON- Paige Wagner, Forensic Investigation; MERRILL- Benjamin Riehle, Civil Engineering.

Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is pleased to announce individuals who were awarded diplomas at commencement exercises in December 2017, including: GLEASON- Bernadet Leder; MERRILL- Mackenzie Points, Robert Wegner.

More than 2,000 students received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison during the winter commencement ceremony on Dec. 16, 2017. The following students from the area have received the University of Wisconsin-Stout Chancellor’s Award for the fall 2017 semester: ATHENS- Kyncaide Diedrich, BS early childhood education; Myles Nofsinger, BS engineering technology; GLEASON- Lila Werner, BFA graphic design and interactive media; MERRILL- Alissa Brewer, BS business administration; Ava Gruetzmacher, BS Food Science and Technology; Isaac Huftel, BFA entertainment design; Mathew Ruge, BFA graphic design and interactive media; Shawn Walmer, BS information and communication technologies; TOMAHAWK- Jordan Roessler, BS Mechanical Engineering; Brandon Vecchio, BS applied social science.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville celebrated nearly 300 students who earned perfect 4.0 grade-point averages to earn Chancellor’s List honors, including Justin Jarvensivu, a Mathematics major from Tomahawk.

Bryce Litschauer of Merrill was among the more than 360 graduates honored at Michigan Technological University’s midyear commencement held on the Houghton, Mich. campus on Dec. 16, 2017. Bryce, son of Mary Litschauer and James Litschauer, received a Bachelor of Science In Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Morgan Thompson of Merrill was named to the Dean’s List for the 2017 fall term at University of Pittsburgh.

Bailey Steffen of Merrill has been named to the Cedarville University Dean’s Honor List for fall semester 2017.
