Merrill Area United Way holds annual meeting

The Merrill Area United Way held its Annual Meeting on Feb. 5 at Church Mutual Insurance Company in Merrill. The event provides for the election of new Board members and officers for the 2018 year.

Stepping down as President of the organization is Joseph Breaman 11; however, he remains active on the Board. Re-elected to the Board for an additional three-year term were: Becca Klessig, Tom Zentner, Maria Brickner, Debbe Kinsey, Leah Burbach, Amy Krueger and Brian Richards.

The election of the Executive Committee and the 2018-19 Officers resulted in the following: President, Clyde Nelson, Lincoln Community Bank; 1st Vice President, Leah Burbach, Church Mutual Insurance Company; 2nd Vice President, Kelly Zagrzebski, Wisconsin Public Service Corp.; Treasurer, Brian Richards, Richard Mamer CPA SC; Secretary, Jane Dehnel, One-Way Collision; Past President, Joseph Breaman II, Breaman Merrill Ford. Executive Committee members are Shannon Murray, Merrill Senior High School; David Johnson, City of Merrill; and Nancy Kwiesielewicz, Ascension Health Care.

Additional action included approval of the 2018 Annual Budget, acknowledgement of retired Board Members; Carolyn Householder and Maria Volpe. The 2017 Annual Report was presented to the Board.

Breaman thanked the Board for the great progress the organization made in 2017 and for their dedication in overseeing the ongoing development of the Merrill Area United Way. Nelson noted, “This is a great organization that serves many facets of the community and helps meet the important needs of people who live in the area. 2018 promises to be a great year, too.”
