On Saturday, Feb. 10, forty Girl Scouts from Merrill and the surrounding area celebrated the 29th anniversary of the Love-a-Pet Service Event at the Maple Creek Dog Training Center.
The girls heard presentations from Lincoln County Deputy Sam Steckbauer and police dog “Nina,” Dr. Karla Sathre from the Wausau Animal Hospital and New Life Pet Adoption Center with two Shiba Inus as well as a cat, Deb Sommerfeld and Clay Stebbins on dog training and agility, as well as several members of the Maple Creek Dog Therapy Dog Group.
There was also a fun photo booth and all girls received a special patch. Girl Scouts bring donations for the Lincoln County Humane Society and New Life Pet Adoption Center to this annual event.
