Svacina selected Athlete of the Week
THS senior Kole Svacina has proven to be a force to be reckoned with as a member of the Hatchet varsity Boys Swim Team this season. The team co-captain underlined that fact with a powerhouse performance last weekend at the Great Northern Conference Meet, where his 4th place finish in the 200 meter Freestyle (1:58.23) , 3rd Place finish and new school reocrd in the 500 meter FreeStyle (5:24.05); along with strong performances with relay team members, helped propel the Hatchets to a 2nd place conference finish.
Svacina has spent his entire high school career as a three-sport athlete for the THS, competing on the Boys Golf team in the spring and cross country squad in the fall.
Aside from sports, Kole is a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Tomahawk, a certified lifeguard at Tomaghawk High School and enjoys spending time in the outdoors with family and friends; downhill skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, hunting in the fall as well as traveling.
Son of Mike and Kerri Svacina of Tomahawk, Kole currently maintains a 3.0 GPA.
Following graduation this spring, Kole hopes to attend a 4-year university and remain a competitive swimmer at the collegiate level.
