Hat & glove drive collected over 250 items

Kelly Davenport of Merrill held a collection in December, gathering winter hats and gloves to donate to local people who were in need.

Thanks to many generous donations, Kelly was able to gather over 250 items and set them out at the Gazebo at Normal Park for anyone who needed a hat or gloves to get through the winter. After the drive Kelly donated the remaining hats and gloves to the School Forest.

Kelly did not work alone, however, as he would like to give a big thanks to the generous people who donated: Merrill Parks and Recreation for the use of Normal Park; his wife, daughter, son in law, and granddaughters for braving the 30 below weather to help set up the items at Normal Park; and Images Hair and Spa for allowing items to be dropped off there. Pictured is the Gazebo at Normal Park as Kelly and his family set up the hats and gloves.
