Additional trail openings announced

Thursday afternoon, the Lincoln County Forestry Land and Parks Department announced the opening of additional snowmobile trails in the Tomahawk area.

With exceptions, Lincoln County Zone 1 funded snowmobile trails will open as of Noon, Thursday December 28, 2017. Trails south of State Highway 86, Corridor 17 south of Intersection #30, Corridor 15 south of Intersection #28 and Trails 51 and G in the Gleason area will remain closed.

All trails in Zones 2 & 3 will remain closed.

The Hiawatha Trail in Tomahawk from SARA Park north to the Lincoln/Oneida County line opened Noon on Thursday, December 21, 2017 and remains open for snowmobile use only.
Be aware of Trail Closed signs, stay on marked trails only and respect private land.

Use extreme caution and expect early season riding conditions throughout the trail system.

Trails designated as winter ATV trails in these areas will not be open to ATV use until Noon, Thursday January 4, 2018 and are closed to winter ATV use when the temperature is above 28 degrees F.
