Jayne L. Annis

Jayne L. Annis, age 90, formerly of Merrill, now of Weston, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Jayne was born July 30, 1927, in Merrill, daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Ringle) Tholl. She married Ellsworth ‘Beaner’ Annis, Jr. on January 23, 1943, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. Prior to her retirement, Jayne had been a waitress at Kathy & Cal’s Club 64, Merrill. Jayne was a people person and enjoyed socializing with her many friends, whether it was bowling, playing cards, or playing bingo. Jayne also enjoyed collecting dolls. Her greatest joy came with spending time with her family. She was a member of the Merrill Eagle’s Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Merrill V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 1638.

Jayne is survived by six daughters, Becky (Gary) Skrzypchak, Wausau, Rhonda (Tom) Karau, Merrill, Michele Cubba, Milwaukee, Robin (Steve) Nielsen, Salt Lake City, Utah, Tammy Annis (Anthony Schmidt), Wausau, and Tia (Myron) Myers, Merrill; three sons, Dennis (Donna) Annis, Rhinelander, Todd (Joy) Annis, and Scott (Kaye) Annis, both of Merrill; a daughter in law, Sandy Annis, Merrill; her grandchildren, Amy, Shannon, Chad, and Amanda, Brandie, Stefanie, Melissa, Michael, Michele, Anna, and Ronnie, Jason, Taylor, Jessica, Tara, Derek, and Corey, Joshua and Jared, Kimber, Rick, Randall, Jamie, Eric, and John, Ryan, Kurt, and Jordan, Tanya, Jenny, and Katie, David, Mark, and Mike; several great and great great grandchildren; and her only nieces Linda, Kristy, and Angie. Besides her husband and parents, Jayne is preceded in death by two children, Randy Annis and Kathleen Mann; four grandchildren, Jacqueline, Isabelle, Jesse, and Donald; and her brother and sister in law, Roger and Barbara Tholl.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
