Fall book sale at the library

The leaves are falling and a chill is in the autumn air. It can only mean one thing – the Friends of the T.B. Scott Library fall book sale. It’s time to stock up and “squirrel away” those stacks of books for your winter reading. It has been several months since the last book sale so the closet is a bounteous cornucopia of captivating books.

Friends of the T.B. Scott Library are invited to shop Thursday, Oct. 26 from 5:30-7:45 p.m. before the book sale opens to the public. Celebrate “National Friends of Libraries Week” by enjoying some candy corn and other autumnal treats at the sale. If you are not yet a member of the Friends, please join us that evening for the low annual membership fee of $5. Being a Friend is a wonderful way to support the T.B. Scott Free Library.

The book sale opens to the public Friday, Oct. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the library’s Community Room. Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. will be the day to “bag” a bargain. Fill a bag with books, etc. for just $2.

The sale includes books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs culled from the library and donated by community members. Adult, young adult and children’s books will be available in both fiction and non-fiction. Books are just 50 cents. Check out the selection on the “Free” table, as well.

The proceeds from the Friends book sales support library programs and services. Find out what’s happening at your library at www.tbscottlibrary.org or by calling 715-536-7191.
