Bluejays secure their fifth conference title since 2011 with win over Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday night. The Bluejays defeated Rapids in convincing fashion winning in three straight sets, moving the Bluejays conference record to 10-1.

The first set was all about the Bluejays, winning by a score of 25-16. The girls took the second set in similar fashion, winning 25-18. Merrill dominated the third set taking it 25-13 on their way to a victory.

“Tonight we had a chance to work on some things that gave us trouble against West.” Comments head coach Kris Krug. “Aggressive serving was more evident as we will need to serve well against DC Everest on Thursday. Megan Schroder hit well with 9 kills and Morgan Wardall had 14 kills. We will set our sights on a home victory this Thursday to finish out our regular season.”

The regular season will come to an end with Merrill’s final conference match up of the year against D.C. Everest, who currently sits in fourth place in conference with a record of 7-4. Following Merrill’s final game, the girls will host the winner of the #4 Northland Pines and #5 Rhinelander on Thursday, October 19.
