Church Mutual Insurance Company has been named a Wisconsin 75 company for the second consecutive year by Deloitte US.
The annual Wisconsin 75 ranking and recognition program showcases the economic contributions of the state’s largest privately held companies.
Church Mutual President and CEO Rich Poirier said Church Mutual is honored to be recognized as a company that has a positive impact on Wisconsin’s economy and communities.
“I am so proud to be a part of this great company,” Poirier said. “At the end of the day and well beyond my time as CEO, I want to ensure Church Mutual can proudly say it is more than an insurer. We believe in the higher order of what our customers are doing and we are committed to protecting the greater good.”
Serving as an engine for growth and innovation in Wisconsin is extremely important, but it reveals just one aspect of the big picture for Church Mutual.
“Establishing ourselves as an employer of choice in central Wisconsin, developing our own employees and championing diversity increase Church Mutual’s impact, too,” said Kevin Root, senior vice president of operations at Church Mutual. “Additionally, our involvement in our hometown of Merrill not only strengthens this community, it strengthens the entire state, directly and indirectly.”
Church Mutual was founded in 1897. It employs about 800 in Wisconsin and roughly 250 across the U.S. Angela Bailey, vice president of human resources at Church Mutual, believes it took the work of the entire company to earn the recognition by Deloitte.
“From our home base in Merrill to the coastlines on either side of the country, Church Mutual employees give it their all,” Bailey said. “We would not have achieved this honor without their hard work and commitment to our customers.”
Nominees for each year’s Wisconsin 75 awards must be headquartered in Wisconsin, be privately or closely held and produce a minimum of $50 million in annual sales.
