Relay for Life cheese sale underway

In Wisconsin, everyone loves cheese and Relay For Life has the opportunity to partner with Wisconsin Dairy State Cheese for a Fall Cheese Fundraiser. Everyone is invited to help in the fight against cancer by purchasing Wisconsin cheese for delivery in time for hunting season time at deer camp, and holiday gatherings and gift giving.

The cheese sale has been extremely successful for the Merrill area Relay For Life event, raising thousands of dollars annually to support the mission of the American Cancer Society. A wide variety of cheeses are offered, from bulk, to spreads including Usinger sausage. Cheese crocks are also available for gift giving and for those who wish to make up boxes for gifts or mailing, several empty box sizes are available to customize and make up your personalized gifts.

Deloris Bauman, long-time volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life event lead, is pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to people in Merrill area communities.

“If you are wondering what to give that special person who has everything, think cheese,” said Bauman. “This has been a very popular fundraiser. Fill the refrigerator with delicious Wisconsin cheese and be prepared for guests this holiday season! You will know you are helping a wonderful cause by purchasing through a local team or mailing in the form to the address provided.”

The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community, with four million participants in 6,000 events worldwide. Dollars raised help the American Cancer Society save lives by funding groundbreaking cancer research, supporting education and risk reduction efforts, and providing free information and critical services for people with cancer who need them. No one understands how vital these services are more than local cancer survivors who utilize the free lodging opportunity for patients and caregivers at Hope Lodge, or free or reduced lodging through our partners, when they need to receive treatment away from home; the Look Good Feel Better Program; free prosthesis and wigs, services through the 800-ACS-2345 Cancer Resource Network and who benefitted from the research funded by the American Cancer Society.
