Tail Waggin’ Tutors returns to T.B. Scott Library

Readers of all abilities are invited to read to Kiva, a certified therapy dog, living right here in Merrill. Kiva and her handler, Mark Mehlos, will begin making weekly visits to the T.B. Scott Free Library starting Monday, Oct. 2. Parents may reserve a 15-minute time slot for their child to read to Kiva each week. Reading times begin after school on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. with the last time slot starting at 4:15 p.m.
Therapy dogs help children strengthen their communication and reading skills.
“I have witnessed the transformation a reading therapy dog can make in the life of a child,” said Carolyn Forde, Youth Services Librarian. “And there is a great deal of research to support my own experience.”
Please contact the Library at 715-536-7191 to reserve a time slot.
