Merrill man charged after attempting to elude officer

On the evening of Thursday December 1, an officer on patrol on the city’s west side observed a vehicle displaying suspended registration, operating on South Alexander Street.
According to officer notes, upon activating the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights in an attempt to perform a traffic stop, the vehicle continued into a nearby driveway. The vehicle was discovered behind a residence and officers were advised the vehicle’s operator-30 year old Timothy Schultz- had just entered the residence. Schultz exited the residence a short time later and was taken into custody.

A search of Schultz’s vehicle reportedly yielded items of Drug Paraphernalia. Upon further investigation, Schultz was found to be on probation and had  an outstanding warrant for his arrest via Merrill-Tomahawk Municipal Court. As a result, Schultz was transported to the Lincoln County Jail on a Felony charge of Bail Jumping as well as Misdemeanor charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
Schultz appeared in Lincoln County Circuit Court on December 5 and was released on $1,500 signature bond.
