Gessler chosen as October Youth Optimist

Sarah Gessler, nominated by Mr. Craig Hoffman, has been selected for the October Youth Optimist.
Mr. Hoffman states, “Super Sarah is spot-on one who emulates a youth optimist. She is a past Link Crew Leader and currently involved in being a teacher assistant in a special education environment. Sarah’s optimism in her activities is wholesome and contagious. Her willingness to help others is reputable and heartfelt.”

Currently, Sarah has a 3.69 GPA and is ranked 30th in her class. She has completed such courses as AP psychology, pre-calculus, algebra 2, anatomy and physiology, chemistry and Spanish 4. Sarah enjoys cross country – which she earned her varsity letter; track & field, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Octagon club, Link Crew, National Honor Society, concert choir and is a special education aide.
Outside of high school, Sarah volunteers through St. Francis Xavier Church, Special Olympics and Make a Difference Day.

After her high school career, Sarah plans to attend UW La Crosse majoring in Special Education or Therapeutic Recreation, specializing in child life.
Sarah is the daughter of Tony and Patti Gessler.
